Ghostwriting Co-Creation

  • Your manuscript will be developed in stages:

    • Book Blueprint: We’ll begin with a 5-call series to set your book vision and structure. We’ll set your purpose and your core audience at the heart of this process, so we know we’re designing a book that uniquely serves the world. This phase concludes with your commitment to your Book Blueprint, the core vision and outline from which we’ll build your book.

    • Interviews: We’ll gather the necessary ideas and stories for your book over a series of interviews—up to 15 90-minute calls. We’ll follow your Book Blueprint to keep these conversations organized in sequence. At the conclusion of this phase, we’ll have interviewed all planned content.

    • Manuscript Writing: As we work through our interview series, I’ll write in the background, concurrently translating our interview material into your book’s chapters. Before digging into the entire manuscript, I’ll provide at least 2 writing samples so you can see how I’m shaping our interviews into polished prose for your book. Your feedback on these samples is incredibly important to set the voice, tone, and flow that I’ll consistently use throughout the book. The finale of this stage is the delivery of your complete manuscript draft, typically 2 months after our interviews conclude.

    • Revisions: With the manuscript draft in hand, we’ll begin customizing the book to its final version. This is typically the most time-intensive phase for most authors, as you’ll need to read through the draft and submit any and all changes you want to see to the text. We’ll cover a section of the manuscript at a time; you’ll submit your changes to a given section, then I’ll review and refine your changes, after which we’ll meet on a call to workshop any decisions needed to finalize that section. We’ll repeat this sequence to shape the manuscript over the course of up to 10 calls. Our process concludes with your final approval of the revised manuscript.

    • Unlimited Voice Note Coaching: Throughout our process, submit your questions, sticking points, and reflections, and I’ll respond by voice note to guide you through your blocks and uncover your best work. Same-day responses Mon-Fri, 10am - 4pm PT

Author Experiences

  • "There are leaders, and then there are visionaries like Emily. From day one, she gracefully guided me through the intricacies of the publishing world, setting high expectations yet always leading with kindness and understanding. Under Emily's mentorship, I didn't just evolve as a writer, but as an individual. Her feedback is always precise, honest, and exactly what one needs to elevate their work to the next level. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Emily's genuine nature and commitment to those she mentors make working with her an absolute privilege. As I embark on my next literary venture, I am unwavering in my decision that my manuscript will pass through her discerning eyes. Thank you, Emily, for being a beacon of inspiration and for the immeasurable value you've added to my journey and work."

    —Hussein Al-Baiaty

  • "Before we began our collaboration, I was genuinely nervous about entrusting someone else with the task of bringing my book vision to life. Writing a book is an intensely personal journey, and the thought of handing over that responsibility to another was daunting. Moreover, previous experiences with creatives had left me wary; there were challenges around communication, understanding my vision, and ensuring the authenticity of my voice. However, from our very first conversation, it became clear that working with Emily was going to be a game-changer. Emily isn't just a ghostwriter; she's an intuitive artist who possesses an uncanny ability to tap into the heart and soul of a story, even with complex topics like innovation and technology. She approached my work with genuine care, ensuring that every word on the page echoed my voice and sentiments. The challenges I once faced were quickly turned into exciting milestones as we navigated the journey together. Her attention to detail, her dedication to preserving my story's authenticity, and her incredible writing skills made the entire process not only painless but deeply rewarding. To anyone who might be hesitant about working with a ghostwriter, I cannot recommend Emily highly enough. She has an extraordinary gift, and I feel fortunate to have had her as my collaborator. My book is not only well-written but truly feels like a piece of me, thanks to her dedication and talent."

    —Nick Davis

  • "I felt a lot of anxiety in setting off on my journey to create a book even though it was on a subject that I was passionate about. I had so much material floating in my mind but only had loose ideas on how I might be able to structure it in a way that would be entertaining and coherent to the reader. In working with Emily, this anxiety began to turn into excitement as she supported me in the areas in which I lacked experience and confidence and allowed me to focus on bringing my stories to life. The process of working with Emily enabled me to bring my best self and to focus on how I wanted to share my vision. Years later, I reflect on the fact that I am a published author and am most proud of the fact that I have helped my readers better balance technology in their families. It is incredibly rewarding to see your vision come to life and there is a certain legacy that is associated with your name being on the cover of a book. Working with Emily turned something very daunting into a very enjoyable creative process. To anyone thinking about writing a book, my advice is this: Do it, and take advantage of great resources like Emily that will help bring your ideas to life."

    —Sean Herman

  • “Emily is a fantastic, thoughtful, and caring guide through the publishing journey. Early in my work developing my book, I was struggling with what the big idea of the book would be. I was afraid of running down a path of writing for hours only to realize this was not the book I wanted. I booked a one-on-one with Emily to chat through the ideas. Her coaching and questions led me to greater clarity about the topic of the book and the value it might offer my readers. I went from writing a broad, irrelevant book to writing one focused on solving a problem for my readers. And left the sessions with a great deal of energy and motivation to get the work done. I can’t thank her enough for that and all of the guidance she offered throughout the process.”

    —Kristian A. Alomá

  • "When I came to Emily the book was finished in a second edition, but it needed a lot of shifts and changes. There were a lot of additional studies and content that needed to be woven in; the language and overall flow needed to be restructured. Emily came in, and in a very professional way guided me through a series of interviews to ensure we could get this book into the finished state that I knew it deserved to be in. Overall it was a pleasure to work with Emily; she was communicative, professional, very easy to work with. I found the book was much improved over the previous editions, to such a degree that no longer did I feel any shame or worry about amplifying and promoting it, but I really felt like I as a professional could stand behind it in the utmost ways. Since publishing the book I’ve had the opportunity and the pleasure to be booked on a number of podcasts; there are a lot of clients who found out about our training program for coaches and practitioners, or our our retreats, by reading that book. It has really helped establish me as a thought leader within the psychedelic and microdosing space. If you’re considering writing a book and considering to do that alongside Emily, my advice is to go for it. You will never regret writing a really good book. You’ll learn so much through the creative process itself, and it really is just a bonus that at the end of that creative process, you have an asset that you can leverage to really grow your professional career."

    —Paul F. Austin

  • "Before I undertook the journey of writing my book, Find Your Clear Vision, Emily played a pivotal role in helping me shed my obsession with achieving perfection right from the get-go. Emily not only demystified the book writing process but also transformed the entire experience, turning it into a creative adventure and an enjoyable learning journey. What truly caught me by surprise was how, by embracing her process and placing my trust in her guidance, I managed to dodge the dreaded writer's block and imposter syndrome. Instead, I felt like a bona fide author, despite having only penned blogs and articles prior to this endeavor. If you're contemplating writing a book and crave professional support from someone who can normalize the highs and lows of the book-writing process with grace, charm, and profound insights, Emily is the person you've been searching for. She's the author's secret weapon you didn't know you needed."

    —Lisa Guillot

  • "As a first time author, I didn't even know if I could write a book. The book writing process is long, challenging, and even grueling at times. I faced self doubt and fear of vulnerability I had not previously experienced. Emily brought a light into that darkness. She knows the path intimately and was able to guide me through. Regardless of how I was struggling, she treated both me and my book with a reassuring seriousness. Unfailingly respectful and blessed with extraordinary insight, she helped me mine true gems from a mountain of rough ideas. Each time I left a conversation with Emily, I was clearer and more confident about the message I wanted to share with the world. I know my published book offers my readers greater value as a direct result of working with Emily. I'm proud of the book I wrote, and I also know it took a dedicated team to bring it to life. Personal, professional, compassionate, experienced, and wise; Emily is the complete package."

    —Violetta Jean

  • "I'm so happy Emily is helping entrepreneurs and others write the books that need to be written, and telling the stories that need to be told. Working with her was amazing and clarifying, and helped me understand where I needed to go. She got me to dig deep into my story in a way that was uncomfortable at first—I didn't want to do it—but ultimately it was the right call. Work with Emily, and you'll have an amazing book."

    —Mike Malatesta

  • "Much of my fear around writing revolves around being seen. Emily coaches from a nonjudgmental standpoint; instead of sharing her own observations, she asked key questions to help me come to my own observations and conclusions. She shared her own experiences as an author in vulnerable and relatable ways, and because she's an author herself, she can be truly empathic about the challenges authors face in telling their stories. I realized writing wasn't about beautiful prose; it was about sharing my truth. I had to show up and do the ugly thing first, from a nonjudgmental place—the beautiful aspects of writing come later."

—Rachel Beisel, C-suite leader, marketing strategist, and startup founder

  • “When I brought my original book idea to Emily, she helped me realize I had four books in one. The idea that became the book was originally just a tidbit, a single chapter in a jumble of different ideas, and it has now blossomed into the podcast I have today. Most importantly, when it comes to giving feedback, there’s a spectrum that runs from delicate to critical—Emily seems to always know where someone is on that spectrum and how they need to receive feedback to respond productively to it. It’s easy to get defensive of feedback that’s too critical, or not take it seriously if it’s too delicate. On group coaching calls I watched Emily tailor her approach to each individual person to give them the feedback they needed to hear.”

—Amir Khaledi, creator and host of the “Was College Worth It?” podcast

  • “More than anything, when it came to bringing the story out of me, I felt confused and stuck in ‘how.’ I hoped to align synergistically with an editor who would understand my message and make it easier to distill it for the world. Emily did exactly that. I felt heard and understood in the safe container of our sessions so I could express my worries without fear. Together we worked on an outline to create a concise message from a flood of ideas. Emily was generous with her time, answering emails thoughtfully. She respected my work, which resulted in me feeling very seen. Emily is not only talented, but compassionate, organized and responsive. The world needs your story. And Emily is the one who can help you bring it to life, if you’re willing. You’re ready as soon as you choose to be.”

—Olivia Young, founder of LivYoung and Box + Flow

  • "Emily was a sought after coach and editor at Scribe so I was fortunate to be able to work with her on my book. I was also inspired by her personal journey to finish and publish her book. I distinctly remember the empathy with which Emily provided feedback and without sugar coating it, a rare and valuable skill. She facilitated in helping me focus my writing and storytelling to bring greater clarity to the reader. Her feedback also helped me bring key points together by highlighting areas that felt disconnected, incomplete, or lacked examples. I would gladly work with her again in the future."

—Sara Capra, senior product manager and Certified Scrum Product Owner

  • “I spent the past year and a half working with Emily, and she has been amazing: every time I’m stuck in the book writing process, Emily always gets me on the right track and moving forward. She is a tremendous editor—she puts her heart into her editing and asks good questions to help clarify concepts that might not be familiar to readers who aren’t experts in my field. Working with Emily has been such a blessing, and it is such a pleasure to now call her my friend.”

—Megan Lisset Jimenez, orthopedic surgeon and world jiu jitsu champion

  • “Editors? Ghost writers? Who needs editors, anyway? My prose is -perfect- the first time around. Yeah, pull the other one. Emily heard my vague book idea and scanned my outline. Then, she went to work. She helped me hone in on my audience and their needs. Then we made sure that my vague idea and outline would actually help that audience. Big surprise, I needed a new outline. Later, she read my initial chapters and helped me stay true to my audience. Emily's guidance will help you clarify your thinking. She'll help you stay true to your vision, while producing a book that connects with your audience. And best of all, she does it with tact, diplomacy, and a smile. (The electric cattle prod in the background of her office is, I'm sure, purely for show.)”

—Stever Robbins, author, CEO and Executive Coach, speaker, and creator of the Get-It-Done-Guy podcast

  • “Writing a book makes you question everything you think you know. And when the fear and doubt set in and you're ready to quit, Emily steps up with a superpower few coaches have. Without judging your actions or suggesting a different course, she becomes 'Empathetic Emily' and supportively helps you navigate your resistance. As someone who's been on the precipice of quitting, I can say without a doubt that if Emily hadn't been there, I would have thrown in the towel, and my book would have faded away.”

—Adam Chapman, CFP and founder of YesMoney

  • "The biggest benefit I got from working with Emily was insight. Through our conversations, she helped me go deeper into my ideas. She helped me question what I wanted to say, how I wanted to say it. As a founder of a company, I think most meetings are a waste of time—but I used up my full allotment of meetings with Emily and then booked more; that’s because her time was so valuable to me. I’m grateful I got to work with her for my first book, and I’m going to involve her even more for my next book. I hope you get to work with her as well."

—JP Michel, TEDx speaker and founder of SparkPath
